I have a 1873-1884 Trapdoor Springfield socket bayonet in exceptional condition. It has 98%-99% blue, it has the original sheath, it has the leather frog that is excellent and playable with the original "brass" US marked belt hanger. The blade is marked "US" plainly and has most if not all of the blueing. Can not find a better one. $250 firm!!!
I also have a rare "CADET" model Trapdoor Springfield bayonet the shorter one for cadets, thinner version made for the WEST POINT cadets and also used in the Indian wars, original with sheath and leather frog and hanger in excellent condition. $325.00. There is one like it on eBay for $324.00 plus shipping plus tax and is no where as nice. I am selling a portion of my 60 year old collection! I only collected the best!
